I have been established since 1987, trading as  Alan Smith Car Electrics. I operate a mobile service from a fully-equipped vehicle and offer a dawn-to-dusk service, at your home or office.  All work and materials we supply are fully guaranteed .  As a small business, I firmly believe that I can offer a more personal and caring service than my larger competitors.

Mobile Telephones

One of the major parts of our work is the transferring of mobile phones and in car hands-free kits from car to car when the time comes to change the vehicle.  Of course, we supply equipment also. We are Vodafone registered and work to the DTI standard MPT1362. We endeavor to install a car phone in such a way as to blend it, wherever possible, to match the interior of the car - each job is customised to the customer’s own preference.  We can install a relay linked into (almost) any car stereo system so that any incoming call will not only automatically mute the stereo for your added convenience and safety, but route the audio through the vehicle's front stereo speakers for added clarity.
Nowadays, it is increasingly important to use a hands-free car telephone. Making a call whilst driving using an mobile telephone is dangerous, inconvenient and could risk your licence.  A hands-free car telephone makes it simple and safe to use whilst mobile, the kit can usually be fitted in 1 - 2 hours and can easily be transferred into another vehicle when the time comes to change your car. Vehicle Security Systems

As a dealer for Autowatch car alarm systems,  we have been installing vehicle security systems for over 15 years with approval to install Thatcham security products.  What is Thatcham? It is a standard recognised by motor insurers. A Thatcham Category one is an alarm system with built in immobiliser, while a Category two is a passively-armed immobiliser. Most leading motor insurers will offer a discount to your premium on production of the certificate which you receive after installation.  Indeed, in some cases, the insurance company will insist on a Thatcham product being fitted.  Of course, if you don’t need to have the Thatcham approval certificate, we can provide a range of alarms - equally as reliable - to suit your needs, your vehicle and your pocket.   All wiring connections to your vehicle are carried out professionally using soldered and properly insulated joints. Satellite Navigation Systems

Having installed and used many different types of SatNav system since they were first introduced, I have found SmartNav to be the easiest to use, the least disruptive to a vehicle to install (only 3 connections are made to the car's electrical system), The simplest to transfer to another car and offering far more features than it's closest rival by far.
SmartNav can not only find a route, but it can detect speed cameras (completely legally) and route you around traffic jams using real-time information from the vast Traffic Master network of cameras. SmartNav can find a route - on the move - if required - by simply pressing a button and telling a real person where you want to go to - house names, postcodes, business addresses - no problem. No messing around trying to type a street name from a menu system!!
SmartNav can find the nearest petrol station, cash point or any other point of interest quickly and easily. It can also track your vehicle and locate it anywhere in the UK if it is stolen.
